Students can now wear their summer uniform!

6th June 2016

Dear Parents/Carers,

As the weather gets warmer, it is important we ensure that our students remain comfortable and attentive throughout the school day. Therefore, with immediate effect we will be implementing our summer uniform policy until we break up on 22nd July.

For the remaining weeks of this half term only, students will be allowed to:

-          Choose between wearing their school blazer or their school jumper. One of the two items must be worn. We are happy to provide this choice in response to student requests however, it is very important that they remain smartly dressed at all times and we will therefore insist that shirts/blouses are ‘tucked in’ at all times.

-          Continue to wear their full school uniform.

We will expect students to continue wearing their school tie at all times.

As has always been the case staff will use their discretion during lessons to ensure that students are as comfortable as possible during the warm weather. This is not a relaxation of school uniform policy, but recognition that with summer approaching, students need to be comfortable if they are to study effectively.

All students will be expected to return to school in September wearing their full uniform.

Finally, could I remind parents that wearing a hooded top is not acceptable at any time on school site and does not constitute an outer-coat.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours faithfully,

Gary Hill
