Dear Parent/Carer,
RE: Study Leave
I am writing to let you know that the official start of Year 11 Study Leave for the GCSE examinations this year begins Wednesday 15th June 2022.
Students will be allowed to leave school at around 1.00pm on this day.
Once study leave has begun, can I remind parents that as the exams are not yet finished, students are expected to revise at home using the materials that have been provided. The school continues to run booster classes before each examination that students must turn up to. Failure to attend these booster sessions could have a severe impact on final results. The details of the remaining booster sessions and upcoming exams can be found on the reverse of this letter.
Students returning for booster sessions or exams must be dressed in full school uniform. Students not arriving in uniform will be sent home to change. When students return to school for the booster sessions, any borrowed equipment or library books must be returned to the relevant department. Failure to return school property could result in students not being able to collect their GCSE results with the rest of their peers.
If a student wishes to return to school for any reason other than exams or booster sessions, in order to maintain safeguarding standards, it is crucial that they sign in at reception and wait to be collected by the member of staff that they have come to see.
For those students who have accepted an offer to study in Phoenix 6th form there is an induction day taking place on Friday 15th July from 9.15am. A letter will be distributed shortly confirming the agenda for the day.
Can I take this opportunity to once again thank you for your continued support. The students have been exemplary in the way they have approached each examination and this will only help them in achieving the results that they so richly deserve.
Yours faithfully,
Mr D Derbyshire
Deputy Headteacher
