An apprenticeship with Phoenix Collegiate is the perfect way to help you decide what job you may want in the future. This opportunity will provide real work experience at the same time as gaining qualifications.
The main purpose of the job role is to provide classroom support to students under the direction of the teacher, in particular students with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities. You must be willing to shadow senior post holders and attend any relevant training, as well as being flexible to support the needs of the post.
You will need to demonstrate a professional approach and have a due regard for Safeguarding and Child Protection, therefore you will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check, prior to commencing in the post.
The post is offered on a 52 week contract, so whilst annual leave must be taken outside of term time you will also be required to work during school holidays. This may not necessarily mean you coming into school but instead carrying out your personal studies at home.
Candidates must have attained GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in at least Maths and English and during their apprenticeship will work towards a level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Phoenix is committed to the protection and safety of its pupils. An enhanced DBS will be required prior to commencement in the post.
